Since I'm participating in the discountASP.NET referral program I figured I might as well explain why? First, I've used other hosting providers and my experience has been mixed but that has not been the case with discountASP.NET.
- Signing up was easy including purchase of a domain.
- Technical support has been very good and quick via email not to mention their online support forums.
- Customer service has been extremely helpful even when I changed my mind about SQL server hosting, they billed me only for the amount of time the feature was active.
- My site has not been unavailable since I opened it in October of 2006 (this was written on March 19, 2007).
- I've been very happy with the response time of my site and have never had any slowness unlike my experience at another provider.
- The control panel (the app used to administer your site) has a very clean UI and is constantly being improved with new features. There is also a live demo.
- Their knowledge base has been a valuable resource allowing me to solve problems without contacting technical support.
- The price for their basic account (which is what I'm currently using) is very competitive.
- Connecting via FTP to upload or manage my files is always fast and has never failed to connect.
