Yet another reason to upgrade my home machine

June 07 2007 9:49PM
As if there weren't enough reasons to upgrade my home machine. I have 10's of thousands of photos, in fact, it would be fair to say I'm over zealous when comes to digital cameras. A few weeks ago I tried playing with Microsoft Photosynth on my home machine and discovered it's simply too challenged to even install. Anyway, Michael Swindell just sent me a link to the video below of Microsoft Seadragon and Photosynth presented by Blaise Aguera y Arcas given during a presentation at TED. IMO, it's well worth the bandwidth.

I know this isn't your fault, but I absolutely hate embedded video players that don't have a volume control.... Oh sure this one lets you mute it, but it is either ear-splitting loud or off.  I don't think everyone down my hall wants to listen to every video I click on.

Even without volume control, still beats YouTube player...

FWIW, the player on the actual site is much better than this embedded version.
