Recently, I contacted the guys at Gurock Software who run DelphiFeeds.com and requested my blog no longer be aggregated. The decision is in part related to my new plans although it's one I've been considering for awhile particularly after Tobias Gurock blogged about moderating non-Delphi related items. I think his post may have been partly instigated by a number of my "off-topic" posts as I was blogging about my Western Digital experience among others. I tend to be at the high end when it comes to post count and Delphi bloggers so a lot more of my "off-topic" content was appearing there.

I've struggled with this my entire blogging life-cycle and still haven't found a good solution, though putting tags to use would be nice. I think the next step for a feed producer is the ability to query for posts and serve them up as feeds, so http://your.blog.com/rss/code+delphi+development.

Right now I have my blogspot blog, one over on Giveness.com, a few random posts on myspace, yet another blog on SuicideGirls, and I've been toying with FaceBook now. Really I want one place with multiple feeds. Basically a Technorati on a personal level.

Hi Shawn,
I proposed the tag solution in a comment to Tobias' post and still feel that's the way to go. Aggregation of every single post isn't likely to work over the long run and in the near term it could serve to keep valuable content (like your's) from appearing on DelphiFeeds.com because the author doesn't want full aggregation.

Hello,

We use category feeds for some blogs on DelphiFeeds.com (mainly blogs that aren't pure Delphi blogs), so we already try to keep the amount of off-topic postings low. We even use Yahoo Pipes for some blogs that don't have category feeds, but we should probably use this more. Anyway, a few off-topic postings per week don't bother me and I myself prefer to read everything a blogger has to say on DelphiFeeds.com, even if it's not strictly Delphi related.
