I spent today at $g(Google Developer Day) in San Jose, CA and to be honest it reminded me of Microsoft’s PDC back in 2000 when Microsoft rolled out .NET. Everyone was on message and there is clearly excitement about all the new technology being presented. The major new pieces being:
I attended a bunch of different sessions covering everything from $g(GDATA) to $g(Google Desktop) to $g(GWT) and biggest thing I came away with was a desire for longer days. Google is clearly working to make their technology very accessible even to non-programmers and there is lots that can be had with some very minor coding. If you’re working on web apps you certainly owe it to yourself to check it out. Btw, videos of all the sessions should be available shortly.
